What To Bring
Please use your discretion in what you bring for your course(s) and consider if you are taking a day sail course or a liveaboard course. Remember, it can be quite cool on the water even in summer months!
DAYSAIL COURSES - Please ensure you bring your lunch, snacks and beverages for the day, along with any other necessities. You may require accommodations, please plan accordingly.
LIVEABOARD COURSES - You will live on the boat and plan your meals and provisioning with the instructor and other students. Provisioning is not an included cost and will be divided evenly amongst the students and instructor. Please ensure you bring all other necessities with you.
Clothes
Deck Shoes – soft soled, non-marking shoes, do not have to be marine deck shoes
T-shirts and shorts
Lightweight long pants and long sleeved shirts for sun protection
Set of warm clothes
Hat with strap for sun protection
Unbreakable sunglasses with strap
Swim suit
Beach towel and bath towel
Foul weather gear – jacket, pants, rain boots – ponchos are not suitable
Sailing gloves
Your own PFD/lifejacket if you prefer (we have plenty available)
Other gear
Sunscreen
Sea sickness medication (please consult your doctor)
All prescription medications must be in correct, labeled bottles
Pillows and blankets, sheets; sleeping bag if preferred (only if on liveaboard course)

Please have your ASA number with you (register at asa.com/asaid)
ASA logbook (if you have taken previous ASA courses)
ASA workbooks and materials
Personal notebook, pencil, erasers, pencil sharpener
Parallel rulers and dividers – required for ASA 105 – Coastal Navigation
Most specialized marine gear (such as sailing gloves and parallel rulers) can be obtained at local marine stores.
Please pack your gear in soft bags. Try to keep the amount of luggage to a minimum – space is limited.
