About Us
Andy McCabe is a certified Sail Canada and American Sailing Association instructor. After 35 years of teaching and working as a Paramedic, Andy's passion for sailing and education culminated in the founding of North Shore Reaching. Since beginning sailing in his teenage years, Andy has traversed various bodies of water, achieved multiple credentials and forayed into racing on a few occasions. Ideally situated on scenic Presqu'ile Bay, Andy now spends his time volunteering with the Trent Sea Cadets and teaching adult sailors of various abilities and enjoying the easy access to Lake Ontario, the Bay of Quinte and the Thousand Islands on his free time. |
Colleen McCabe was introduced to sailing by Andy about eight years ago. Since then, she has become an American Sailing Association certified sailor. Colleen oversees the administration and smooth sailing of North Shore Reaching and enjoys spending any time she can on the beautiful waters of Eastern Ontario sailing, fishing and volunteering as a crew member for the Brighton Auxiliary Rescue Unit, a branch of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary.
